Mom's Meal

Elegant was the word my wife used to describe the scene this past Wednesday night in Crossroad's auditorium. As I'm sure you're all aware, it was Valentine's day. A day that can bring joy or sadness depending on one's current situation. One of our ladies Bible studies recognized that Valentines Day can be an especially tough day for single moms.
That didn't sit well with them. So they decided to do their best to make sure the single mom's of Crossroads and our local community had an enjoyable and kid free night out; one where they felt loved, appreciated and cared for!
The women of Crossroads rallied together in a way that would've made Hannibal from the A-team proud.
Crossroads very own fining dinning restaurant! The meal was Italian consisting of lasagna, garlic bread, vegetables and of course an array of very fancy desserts! More than 15 women from the Bible study shopped, chopped, stewed, and shuffled about to prepare the meal, decorate the space and serve the mom's. Along with them, 6 of Crossroad's finest from the youth group provided child care for more than 20 children!
"I love it when a plan comes together!"
I realize no thanks is needed, but thanks ladies for engaging in the mission of Christ, for seeing a need and rising to the challenge to meet that need! I'm confident and it is my prayer that the mom's who were served felt the love of Jesus in a very tangible way.
A few ladies from Crossroads helping serve!
We here at Crossroads Church tip our hats off to you exemplary followers of Christ. Well done you good and faithful servants! May your service inspire more of us to step up and serve our community with the love of Jesus!
